Biography

Nature serves as my inspiration. I studied at Gail Harker Creative Design Centre where my interest in goldwork began. A particular area of interest is “or nué” – a tradition that has been practiced for centuries.

Artist Statement

Linen fabric serves as a base onto which a design is drawn. Japanese gold thread is couched down using coloured embroidery thread to reflect the colour of the design’s object. Multiple colours are needed to provide contrast. This process is very time consuming, but it is very satisfying for me.
