Artist Statement

During the past year, I started painting in oil again. Colours in my landscapes are now jewel-like and light and shadow are more defined. Framing landscapes can create “windows” to the outdoors and the shadow-box style frame can create optical illusions. These miniature landscapes may appear as 3D imagery (holograms) captured in a box. I hope that visitors to this exhibit will experience this optical illusion when viewing my work.
