Biographies
Mariana Wong
I have been a ceramics student at Place des Arts for many years and in that time have been inspired by and have learned from some of the best ceramics teachers. While I normally make mostly functional pottery, such as mugs and bowls, every so often I’m inspired to create something that makes me smile.
Dorothy Ng
Usually reluctant to make anything other than mugs, I jumped at the chance to work with Mariana on these sculptures. Perhaps you are witness to the beginning of a long artistic partnership.
Artist Statement
Created in collaboration is the ceramic/multimedia form of the current pop culture “psycho killer duck”. These altered wheel-thrown enclosed forms were inspired by the graphic on a t-shirt one of our teachers wears. We hope our collaboration will also make you smile.
