Registration into the Coquitlam Youth Theatre program is by-audition only. Upon acceptance, students will be provided a personalized rehearsal schedule. Casting details will be released after rehearsals begin. It is the students’ responsibility to arrange transportation to and from rehearsals, classes and performance venues. Students will not be permitted to miss more than two rehearsals per production. Exceptions for medical or compassionate reasons may be considered upon receipt of a written explanation submitted to the Sr. Fine & Performing Arts Programmer within 24 hours of absenteeism. Failure to meet this attendance requirement may result in expulsion from the Coquitlam Youth Theatre program.

The 2020/2021 Season
Winter Touring Production: The Trumpet of the Swan. Touring performances take place on January 26-28, 2021 at School District 43 elementary and middle schools.*
Spring Production: A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Two performances on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at the Inlet Theatre in Port Moody.*

Rehearsals will run September 12, 2020 to June 5, 2021 for all Coquitlam Youth Theatre Company members. Exact rehearsal schedules for each production are included in the audition package.
CYT Faculty for 2020/2021
Place des Arts instructor Seamus Fera will lead rehearsals and direct both shows. Additional guest instructors and master artists will be working with the CYT actors throughout the season.
A $90 production fee and $90 costume rental fee is applied per performance to all Coquitlam Youth Theatre members, and is used to offset production costs.
A full refund will be granted if notice to withdraw is provided seven (7) days prior to the start date of the class. Refunds will not be granted after the seven (7) day period has passed.
Audition Submission deadline: 1:00 PM on Wednesday, July 1, 2020
To audition (no cost to audition) rehearse and memorize one of the monologues provided in the Auditions Package. Additionally, rehearse and memorize 16 bars (30 seconds) of a musical theatre song of your choice to perform in your audition video. Prior to your audition, it is highly recommended you do background research on the characters who speak/sing in your chosen pieces.
