Artist Statement

When creating art, I draw a lot of inspiration from nature and diverse cultures. I use art to reflect on the human condition and convey abstract emotions and feelings that words fail to capture. I use both personal and general symbols, and I try to create pieces that have personal significance and represent a facet of who I am or how I perceive the world around me. My art is an extension of myself, and I put a lot of energy and personality into everything I create, so my subject matter can span a wide array of topics depending on what I feel called towards.

It is hard to stick to a single medium because the human experience is so varied. However, I gravitate towards ink and acrylics. I enjoy being inspired by and learning about art from different cultures and times throughout history and incorporating styles from various art movements. Then, I synthesize what I observe and learn into contemporary artwork. Most of my work is abstract and stylized, and I enjoy recreating visual representations of my subjective experience of life. Art is a fundamental part of my life, and I have an innate compulsion to be creative and share my ideas and experiences through artistic mediums.
