Positively Petite: 30th Annual Miniature Exhibition

Place des Arts seeks local artists who create things small and beautiful for the 30th anniversary of Positively Petite: Annual Miniature Exhibition in the Atrium Gallery from November 15 – December 19, 2019, with an opening reception on Friday, November 15 from 7:00-9:00pm.

Application Deadline: Monday, September 23, 2019 at 5:00pm

  • 2D Artworks
    • Image/artwork area no larger than 30 square inches
    • (i.e. length x width = area; e.g. 5 inches x 6 inches = 30 square inches)
    • Frame area no larger than 144 square inches
    • (i.e. length x width = area; e.g. 12 inches x 12 inches = 144 square inches)
  • 3D Artworks
    • Artwork volume no larger than 90 cubic inches
    • (i.e. length x width x height = volume; e.g. 6 inches x 5 inches x 3 inches = 90 cubic inches)
  • All artworks must be original and made by the applicant; no craft kits, items purchased and assembled, imported crafts or items made by someone other than the applicant will be accepted
  • Created within the past 12 months
  • A minimum of 3 artworks in any medium; up to a maximum of 8 artworks will be accepted
  • All artwork must be ready to hang and/or display, 2D artwork must have hanging hardware and/or a picture hanging wire securely attached
  • All artwork is required to be for sale


  • All submissions will be reviewed and juried by Place des Arts
  • All artists will be notified of the status of their application by mid-October; all decisions of the jury are final
  • If accepted, Place des Arts will issue an exhibition contract and directions on artwork drop off, which will occur by appointment
  • Place des Arts has the sole discretion to reject any artwork(s) at any time prior to or during the exhibition


  • Place des Arts will retain 30% of the retail price of any artwork(s) sold
  • Artwork that is sold may be replaced by the artist with no additional application fee


The below items must be submitted by the application deadline:

  • Completed application form including:
    • An artist statement outlining artistic approach (maximum 100 words)
    • Artist biography (maximum 100 words)
  • $20.00 application fee including taxes payable:
    • By credit card over the phone
    • By credit card, debit or cash in-person
    • Please note: application fees are non-refundable
  • A minimum of 3 to a maximum of 8 images of your work (if work is framed, please include the frame in your image)
    • High resolution digital images are preferred (JPGs or TIFFs at 300dpi, less than 2MB)
    • Printed images and original artwork will also be accepted in-person
